Grace Children’s Easter Mission

We love to support Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti.  Every Easter, they are our mission focus.  This year, we are putting together hospital discharge bags.

Help Ukraine

First Methodist McKinney is proud to work with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). The humanitarian aid arm of the United Methodist Church, UMCOR is there to provide relief when war, storms, and natural disasters strike anywhere on the globe. Because your normal giving supports the operating budget of UMCOR, 100 percent of your special gift today will go directly to people and communities in crisis. Currently, our UMCOR giving is focused on the victims and refugees of the war in Ukraine.

New Studies

We have two new studies starting in January!
 
Open Hearts Women’s Study Group: Join the Open Hearts Women’s Group for a six-week study of The Difficult Words of Jesus by New Testament scholar Amy Jill Levine.  January 12th from 9:30-11:00 in the Hub conference room.  Email Patti Churner for info.  Book is $12.
 

Faith in Action: Sundays beginning January 9th through February 13th at 9AM on Zoom.  Faith in Action will be starting a new study based on Adam Hamilton’s book Christianity and World Religions: Questions We Ask About Other Faiths. The book is available from Cokesbury and Amazon if you wish to purchase it, but we will be using a video to facilitate discussion each week.  Email Faith in Action for info and Zoom link.

Sock Drive

Feeding Friends & Families is collecting socks in January!  A new, warm pair of socks can make such a huge difference for someone in need.
 
We would like donations of NEW packages of socks for kids and adults.  We’d also love donations of fuzzy socks.

Dinners Needed!

We need volunteers to make meals for the two homeless ministries our church is involved with. We support the Roadside Church by bringing meals the 2nd Sunday of every month. We also help with the McKinney Emergency Overnight Warming Station by providing food.
