Children and Youth

Our mission is to gather children and youth in love and help them grow in the Word of God so they will be equipped to go into the world as disciples of Christ. From preschool to Sunday School to Youth Group, First Methodist McKinney is a place where kids are loved and valued, a place for them to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially.

Children’s Ministries

The mission of our children’s ministry is to gather children in love and help them grow in the Word of God so they will be equipped to go into the world as disciples of Christ. From Sunday school to preschool to various activities, First Methodist McKinney is a place where children are loved and valued, a place for children to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially.

Children’s Ministries offers Sunday school, monthly activities during the school year, Vacation Bible School, and summer camps. All of these great activities are being re-imagined to accommodate health and distancing guidelines. Check out our Sunday School page to participate in our online At Home Sunday School. Visit our Events page to join in for Zoom fun with activities such as LEGOs and storytime! Be sure to follow us on Facebook to stay connected.

HEART Special Needs Ministry strives to provide a supportive, loving, and safe environment for preschoolers through adolescents with special needs to experience the love of Christ through their spiritual journey with their peers.

Children’s Music provides an opportunity for children to learn to worship God through the power of music and use their gifts for the ministry of the church. We have both choral and handbell groups.

HOPE School is our amazing preschool. HOPE stands for Hands On Preschool Education, and it is just that! Children are engaged in learning in meaningful ways and grow in knowledge and in the love of God.

Nursery care will be provided when we are meeting in person and without any restrictions. Our  nursery is caring, experienced, safe and secure, and is for all church services for children who are four years old and under and not enrolled in Kindergarten. Watch for information on regathering plans.

Children’s Advocacy is important in our ministries to support justice for the well being of children. Learn more…

Youth Ministries

In Youth, we learn about how our faith applies to the world around us through community, service, special events, games and conversations. Our mission is to build a Christian community where all students are encouraged to become deeply committed Christians. We accomplish this mission by equipping parents, adults and staff, as well as offering  programs to lead students into a deeply committed faith.

Our Youth Ministry for middle and high school kids offers all sorts of great activities on their website for virtual engagement. During this time of social distancing, Pastor Chris has come up with lots of ways that we can stay connected. The Youth have their own website with all the information on their Sunday School, meetings, events, and music. Check it out here!
