Health and Safety Guidelines

While attending, we take care of each other

  • Wear a face mask, fitted and covering the nose and mouth (age 5 and older)
  • Keep 6 feet of distance between non-family members
  • Apply hand sanitizer upon entering and regularly
Before attending
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and worship with us online.
  • Symptoms: Do not attend if you or a member of your household are experiencing any of the following new or worsening symptoms: fever or feeling feverish, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, shaking, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea (DSHS, CDC).
  • Positive for COVID-19:
    • With Symptoms: If you think or know you had COVID-19 and you had symptoms, you can be around others after 10 days since symptoms first appeared, and at least 24 hours fever free without fever-reducing medication, and other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving. Note: Loss of taste and smell may persist past the isolation time (CDC).
    • With No Symptoms: If you tested positive but never developed symptoms, you can be with others after 10 days have passed since the date of your positive test (CDC).
  • Exposure: If you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 and you are:
    • Not vaccinated, you should stay home for 14 days after the last date of exposure to that person (CDC).
    • Fully vaccinated, (2 weeks after final dose) and symptom free, you do not need to stay home (CDC).

After attending in person
If you or a person in your household tests positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of attending an in-person gathering, please notify the church office at 972-562-8556 or email

I will not hold First United Methodist Church McKinney liable for coronavirus exposure or contraction. I understand that properly worn face masks covering the mouth and nose and 6 feet of physical distancing are required.
