Good Measure: Stewardship 2026

God’s blessing has been poured upon us.

It flows through our church as we love and welcome all. It flows into our community as we work hand in hand with our neighbors. It flows into the world, bigger than we can imagine, in ways we don’t expect, surrounding and sustaining us.

The good measure that God gives to us is the same measure we are called to give. We know that as we give our gifts – our time, our service, and our resources – these gifts are multiplied by the grace of God and poured out to bless the world.

We’re asking all who are connected to First United Methodist McKinney to give a Good Measure in the following ways:
  • If this is your church and you are not giving intentionally, respond in faith and start giving on a regular basis. Your church depends on your faithfulness and generosity.
  • If you are already giving, respond in faith by tithing. A tithe is the Biblical model of giving a tenth to the Lord. This is a powerful act of faith.
  • If you are already tithing, respond in faith by considering an additional gift to bless the work and ministries of our church in the year to come.
Over the next few weeks, we will be talking about how purposeful, regular giving is a spiritual discipline allowing us to be the Church together. Please pray and consider how you can use your money to share God’s overflowing love through the work of the church.

Fill out and return your estimate of giving card. This isn’t a contract, but it helps your church staff plan our missions, ministries, and financial commitments for 2026. We hope to have everyone’s estimate of giving by November 16. You can click here to fill out your card online, or you can find a paper copy of the form at the front desk, the worship areas, or even your mailbox if we have your address!

God has given us a Good Measure. Pressed down, shaken together, running over in our hearts and in our world. I ask you to join me in praying that First United Methodist McKinney and Melissa UMC will continue to share this Good Measure through our ministry in Collin County, North Texas, and the world.
