Hot Weather Respite
Once again, we will have dinners and a cool place for our unhoused friends on Fridays this summer. Please consider joining us and helping out! We will have dinners on JUNE 20 & 27, and JULY 11,18, & 25! 6:00- 8:00 pm @ The Hub.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL:
-Visit with guests and make them feel welcome while they are at The Hub
-Provide part of a meal or drinks

Compassion Closet: Clothing distribution at Feeding Friends and Family
Compassion Closet gives new or gently used clothes to our neighbors in need downtown.
Our current needs are new or gently used summer clothes and shoes and new underwear and socks for men, women, and children.
We also need help with sorting and distributing clothes.
You can drop by Mission Headquarters at the church to sort clothes each Tues/Thurs morning from 9-11am. You can also volunteer to work on Saturdays (2nd and 4th Saturdays 9:30-11am in the Parlor) and Thursdays (1st and 3rd at 4pm) for clothing distribution.
GATEWAY MINISTRY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS*! This dynamic ministry needs volunteers who could dedicate two hours each month to offer fellowship and fun programming for young adults with special needs.
Volunteers assist in these ways:
· Help provide a meal for the group
· Help serve the meal and assist members to make choices
· Help members enjoy the activity and assist them through any challenges they may have
· Laugh with, visit with, and have a great time with these young adults!
*any experience in educating or assisting children or adults with special needs is perfect , but not required!
Each week we pack and distribute lunches for our unsheltered neighbors in downtown McKinney. You can help in several ways! The easiest (and most needed way) is to sign up to purchase food. CLICK HERE for the sign up. Bring the food to the church ASAP to be packed. You can also help pack the lunches on Wednesdays at 11:30 in the Conference Room. Donations can also be made with “homeless” as the memo to go toward the purchase of Gatorades, sacks, etc. Email Caitlin for more information.
English as a Second Language Ministry
Our church offers ESL classes! We have helped hundreds of English language learners from dozens of different countries develop valuable communication skills. You don’t need teaching experience or knowledge of languages to help. Just a willing spirit and free time on Wednesday nights.
