Confirmation is an important part of the United Methodist Church. Below are details on yearly confirmation and other opportunities. If you have any questions or want to volunteer, please email Deidre Imthurn, our Associate Minister with Youth and Confirmation.

What does “confirmation” mean?
United Methodists use the term “confirmation” to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly “confirms” their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The United Methodist Church.

Confirmation in 6th grade
Each year we offer Confirmation for current 6th graders that starts in August and ends in May. It includes an overnight retreat in the fall and a day long retreat in the spring, as well as class every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. at The Hub.

Confirmation for Older Youth – Begins in January 2024

This class is for any youth in 7th-12th grades who have not completed confirmation, but would like to learn more about what it means to be a United Methodist. The class will meet at the Hub during the 10:05 a.m. Sunday School hour. We will begin with the orientation on January 21st and conclude at the Confirmation Service on May 4th. The cost of confirmation is $30/confirmand, which includes supplies for class and spring retreat.
