Since 2013, First United Methodist Church McKinney has been working with David and Cindy Ceballos to minister with the Ngnobe-Bugle in central Panama. We have team members working on construction projects, doing medical education and testing, and offering Vacation Bible School to the children. Learn about our upcoming trips in October and find out how you can serve!
Our mission teams are planning our 2026 trips:
October 10-18, 2026 – Construction Team
October 17-25, 2026 – Medical/Dental/VBS Team

Operación Abrigo Mission Trip

We will be going on a mission trip to serve with Operación Abrigo this November! Operación Abrigo is an ecumenical ministry that brings together three decades of ministry serving the people of Juarez, Mexico. Over the past 30-years, they have built thousands of cinder-block homes, five churches, a medical clinic, and a community center for families living on the outskirts of Ciudad Juarez.
Information meeting for this year’s Operacion Abrigo mission trip on May 7 at 7 p.m. in the Parlor
The trip will be November 12th-15th.

10:30-11:30ish, first Wednesday of every month at Hope coffee in Melissa
All children are welcome! Our goal is 15-30 minutes reflecting on that months readings/questions, then 30-45 minutes fellowship. We will hold each other accountable to complete the study, have fellowship, and talk all things mom!

Led by Amy Lenhart, MA, LPC-S, NCC, who has over 25 years as a professional mental health therapist. Amy has worked in an agency setting, therapy with students in higher education, and doing employee assistance counseling for major companies. Amy Lenhart has also advocated for mental health in leadership roles both in the state of Texas, serving as a past president of the Texas College Counselors Association, and also on the national level serving a past president for the American College Counseling Association.
