Our Connect Pathway offers step-by-step guidance and opportunities to grow and connect. Whether you are new to the faith community at First Methodist McKinney or have been a part of this community for many years, we encourage everyone to find way to connect!
 
 
The Connect Pathway:
  • Connect Tours: monthly tours of our campus will be available for those who are new to the community or who are interested in learning a little bit more about our buildings, our congregation, and our history. Tours begin at 11:15 in the chapel near the information desk in the main lobby. Every last Sunday of the month. The next tour is September 27.
  • Connect Social: this is an opportunity for those new to the community to hear from the pastoral staff about the mission and vision of the church and our shared discipleship practices, as well as to meet other folks who are new to the community, to ask questions, and to share lunch. This will be held every other month. The next Connect Social is in October. 
  • Connect to Community: a course led by Pastor James to introduce who we are as United Methodists! We’ll talk about history, doctrine, and theology, what we believe and how we live it out in the world. There will also be opportunities for further study and engagement in the congregation. This four-week class will start Sunday, September 6 at 11:10 in room C210. 
  • Joining Sundays: anyone can join the church at any time, and we know sometimes it is more fun (and less stressful) to do things in groups. We will have designated Sundays where those wishing to join the church with a larger group will be able to do so. Keep an eye out for upcoming dates.
We also know that discipleship is a life-long journey. Therefore, we hope everyone who calls our church home, whether you join in formal membership or not, will participate in our shared practices which help us grow in our discipleship. Together we live lives of Prayer, Worship, Study, Generosity, Service, and Invitation.
