Q&A - A First Time Visitor's Guide

Where is the church?

First Church is located one block off the square in beautiful downtown McKinney at 315 N. Church Street.

Where do I park?

On the east side of the church, parking is available directly across from the Sanctuary (on Church Street), on the lot located on Lamar and Wood Streets and our lot located at Kentucky and Lamar streets. There is parking available in our lot on the corner of Hunt and Benge Streets, located on the west side of the church, and our Hunt Street parking lot on the south side of the church near the Children and Youth wing. On Sunday mornings, remote parking is available at the city parking lot on the corner of Virginia and Church Streets (2 blocks south of the church) where CCart Transportation gives complimentary rides to and from the church.

What should I wear?

Feel free to wear whatever clothes make you feel most comfortable. You will see people in “Sunday” attire, as well as casual slacks and jeans. We care more that you’re here than what you wear.

What about my children?

Nurseries for infants through age five are offered for all worship services. Children older than kindergarten are encouraged to attend worship services.  Children wear nametags that match that of their parent. Pagers are provided for all parents and are recommended if your child is under 2 years of age or has a special medical condition.

Do I have to be a member of First Church to take Communion?

Everyone is welcome to share communion regardless of church membership. We invite all who profess Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior.
