Becoming a Member
Our Commitment to our members
Is to support and encourage your growth as a member by providing opportunities for you to:
- Grow in grace, knowledge and understanding of God through the Word, prayer, fellowship and worship.
- Sharpen your leadership skills through classes, workshops and hands-on experience.
- Serve God in a ministry where you are able to use your spiritual gifts to make significant contributions to the mission and vision of the church.
Ways to Join
By Profession of Faith and Baptism:
A person who begins the Christian life does so through a Profession of Faith in Christ and Baptism, which is a means of receiving God’s grace through Jesus Christ. For a young person or adult, this is when God acts in our lives to start a new life of faith, commitment, and covenant with God. If you are ready to receive God’s gift of Baptism, please visit a pastor who will be happy to talk with you about this important step in your spiritual life.
By transfer from another United Methodist Church:
Your membership belongs where you live and attend services. We are able to handle all the paper work regarding your transfer of membership through our church office.
By transfer from another Christian denomination
We are able to recognize your previous baptism and transfer your church membership from your denomination. Since we honor your baptism, you do not need to be re-baptized.
For information about membership, please contact Tara Cooper at 972.562.8556, ext. 24.
Every Member in Ministry
Every Member in Ministry exists to encourage every member to be involved in some variety of ministries. Ministry may be writing notes or teaching, singing or ushering, participating in any of the dozens of opportunities listed in this booklet, or initiating a service you’ve created yourself. Our ministries are as varied as our members and our members’ gifts. This rich array of active talent makes our church alive and exciting and effective at doing so much so well.
