We minister to one another within our church and community by providing care and support through challenging circumstances such as illness, loss, unemployment and other life situations. This nurturing support is provided through pastoral care as well as ministries where we care for one another in the spirit of love and hope in Jesus Christ.
Pastoral Care - When you are in need of comfort during a trying time in your life such as hospitalization or the death of a loved one, please call the church office at 972-562-8556 so that we may alert the pastoral staff who will offer prayer and support. For emergencies, a clergy member is on call.
Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministers are members of the church who have completed 50 hours of training to provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to people who are facing a crisis or simply going through a difficult time. Your Stephen Minister will meet with you once a week to listen to you, care for you, pray with and for you, and provide emotional and spiritual encouragement. Counseling Services - FUMC's contract counselor, Shelly Gilbert, M.Ed., LPC, specializes in chldren, adolescents, families and couples. Shelly can be contacted at 214-726-5666.
Prayer Shawls - Shawls created by loving hands of church members are blessed then given to persons undergoing a difficult life situation. If you know of someone who has a need for a prayer shawl, please contact Sue Wagstaff at 972-548-2071, sue_wag@sbcglobal.net, or the church office.
