Visitors Center

New to FUMC? Here’s what to expect…

We will be ready for your arrival! Any of our six services on Sunday readily welcome visitors for the first time. We average over 1100 people through our doors each Sunday, and many of those are visiting our church family. Our doors are open to everyone! When you arrive, look for a greeter or usher in any service. They will be looking for you! Please let them know if you need any assistance or information. Or stop by the Information Desk in the main lobby and someone will be there to help.

Where do I park?

On the east side of the church, parking is available in our lot on Church Street, in the lot located at Lamar and Wood streets and in our lot located at Kentucky and Lamar streets. Parking is also available at the library. A six-passenger golf cart is available to give you a ride to and from the church from these parking lots.

There is parking available in our lot on the corner of Hunt and Benge Streets, located on the west side of the church, and our Hunt Street parking lot on the south side of the church near the children and youth wing. On Sunday mornings, remote parking is available at the city parking lot on the corner of Virginia and Church streets (2 blocks south of the church) where CCart Transportation gives rides to and from the church. A complimentary ticket, available from the Information Desk, is required to ride.

What should I wear?

Feel free to wear whatever clothes make you feel most comfortable. You will see people in “Sunday” attire, as well as casual slacks and jeans. We care more that you’re here than what you wear.
