Thank you for your interest in joining this family of faith at First United Methodist Church of McKinney. The process for becoming a member is simple and can be done in several ways:
Transfer of membership from another United Methodist Church
If you are currently a member of another United Methodist Church, you may simply transfer your membership to FUMC-McKinney.
Transfer of membership from another denomination
If you are currently a member of another denomination, you may transfer to First United Methodist Church. You will be asked to support the church with your “prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.”
Reaffirmation of faith
If you have been baptized but have not been active in a church for some time, you may join by reaffirming your faith and promising to support the church with your “prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.”
Confession/Profession of Faith
If you have never been baptized nor made a decision to join a church, you may join by confession of your faith and Christian Baptism.
At the conclusion of each worship service, there is an open invitation to be received into membership. Throughout the year we offer a special opportunity to become a member in a small, relaxed setting at Join the Church Sunday. Contact Rev. You may also mark "Wish to Join" on the attendance pad that is passed at each worship service, and Liz will contact you.
