Invitation to the New Testament: A Short Term Disciple Bible Study

Invitation to the New Testament is an 8-week group Bible study that is about the same depth as the year-long disciple courses, but shorter in length to provide a convenient way to experience the unique study and community of Disciple.

The Gospel of Matthew forms the framework of this study of the New Testament, as you encounter the coming of Jesus, his life, his mission, and his call to community and discipleship. You will read widely from selected portions of the New Testament and have the opportunity to reflect on your reading during the week and with other members of your group at the weekly meeting. The combination of the daily readings and the weekly group time (the group meets for about 90 minutes) is one of the great strengths of the Disciple format.

Invitation to the New Testament is not meant to be a comprehensive survey, but a beginning step to an ongoing conversation with and about the Word of God. This is an excellent way to get started, to grow deeper, to connect to the community, and to make some friends with others who are on the journey.

Darren Cooper will facilitate this 8-week class next in spring 2009. No previous experience with Bible study is necessary. Childcare is available at the church.

A registration form for the next session will be posted here when registration opens.
