Active Parenting Now
Parents of children ages 5 to 12 are invited to join a new 14-week parenting class, Active Parenting Now. This workshop class will meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Room C210, beginning September 7. It will be led by veteran Active Parenting Now facilitators Curt and Karen Reid.
This informative and entertaining program incorporates video, activities, and discussion in a Christian environment, designed to show parents some ways to raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure. The class aims to leave parents energized and motivated to make changes in family routines that will lead to greater happiness. This course will present some effective ways to:
- Improve communication with your children
- Teach responsibility and other important values
- Handle problems when they come up
- Use discipline techniques that work
- Cope with difficult topics (such as drugs, violence, and sex)
- Defuse power struggles with your children
- Stimulate independence as your child grows older
- Encourage your children to be their very best
Pick up an informational flyer in the church lobby for additional details, or visit www.activeparenting.com for more on the Active Parenting program.
