CCHC

Overview and Accomplishments

According the the Texas Hospital Association, an estimated 24.6% of all Texans are without health insurance. Children and Community Health Center of McKinney strives to provide basic healthcare services to the underserved and uninsured members of the north Collin County Texas community. This care is available at no charge to qualifying patients and is provided in an environment of respect and support. Through CCHC, patients have access to well-child exams, acute care and ongoing treatment and monitoring of chronic issues that they would otherwise be without.

CCHC opened in August 2004, seeing patients two nights a week in a small space donated by Medical Center of McKinney. Gradually CCHC expanded to new facilities (also donated by Medical Center of McKinney) and increased its operating hours. Currently four daytime clinics and two night clinics are held each week, plus two women's services clinics and two diabetes clinics each quarter. CCHC has conducted more than 10,000 paitient visits since opening.
